What is CAP Consulting?

river Alberta

CAP Consulting is a team of research and evaluation consultants working out of Southern Ontario on projects spanning across Canada. We specialize in outcomes and process evaluations, environmental scans, needs assessments, and other community-based research. We work with a variety of not-for-profit organizations, public health, community health centres, foundations, and different levels of government to guide them in achieving their objectives and assessing their outcomes.

We help our clients with assessing the evaluability of their programs, developing appropriate evaluation frameworks, conducting community consultation, asset mapping and needs assessment, early childhood research and knowledge mobilization, environmental scans, and building capacity around evaluation. Our evaluations are utilization-focused and incorporate quantitative and qualitative measures. We have also helped clients in developing policies, protocols, and toolkits.

We have worked on a diverse range of issues and topics, including youth engagement, violence and abuse, poverty, primary prevention, parenting and family-centred programs, employment training programs, and health-focused programs.  For more information on the services we offer, visit our Services page, or check out further information on our current and past projects.

What People Have to Say...

We have worked with Judit and Karen over the past decade on several youth program evaluations and strategic reports. This long-term relationship has endured because their approach aligns with our organization’s values:

Judit and Karen demonstrate a deep respect for everyone on our team and our processes. They listen and make sure that all of our collaborators, including young people, youth-serving organizations, and communities, feel heard. They take the time to really understand what is happening, what we do and how we do it. And finally, their communication is tailored and accessible to make sure that evaluation and strategy development are meaningful and useful. They have a truly collaborative spirit and a strong commitment to making evaluation accessible for young people, organizations that serve them, and the communities in which they live.

We have been very satisfied with the work Karen and Judit have done for us in evaluating our project, Bridges out of Poverty.  They have been very collaborative, thorough and flexible to work with.

Karen Hayward and Judit Alcalde… approached the project with a great balance of professionalism and enthusiasm, and they maintained that balance throughout numerous surveys, project team meetings and drafts of the report.
